Massive Update

Personal

I’m heading to Denver for the weekend and I’m pretty excited for it. I’m there for a wedding, but I’ll also be going out to the clubs when I’m there. Anyone know of anything I should do when I’m down there?

Work

Work is, well, work. I have met some cool people that make the night go by faster (well, at least not as boring). Maybe I can get something together where we can all chill one night/weekend not at work.

School

I don’t have many classes, but things are still getting crazy. With my cisco class, I’m finding it hard to remember to take the damned test (they are online and we take them when convient). I typically remember Sunday afternoon (they run from Monday to Sunday until around 11).

Projects

I’ve been working with django for the registration site. I have a long ways to go, but I hope to get most of it done in the car ride this weekend. I could probably crank this out in php, but I really want to get better with django/python (they just released a new version of python, version 2.6).

Cutbird Launch

The Cutbird store launch went off without much of a hitch. I had to re-code some of the fex-ex scripts to automate shipping and the like.

Websites

I’m working on a few different websites. One, for my sister, is complete now and I think looks great. There is some small design flaws on IE 6, but honestly, update your browser. I doesn’t make the page unreadable and would take me many hours to fix. My sister is ok with the way it is now.

The other site I’m working on is for my cousins skateboard company. It’s coming along nicely.

Django

I’ve started using a rails app called Django. I’ve fallen in love with it. It’s not only python, but it is very easy to set up the database, views, and program all the data handling structrues. I’d definatly suggest it.

Python Programming

I’ve started really looking at programming with Python. It seems like a very versitile language. I want to write an application, but for any gui work, it just seems easier to drag-and-drop with something like visual basic than to program each window and element individually. I am kind of disappointed that the module curses doesn’t work quite right with my installation.

Posting from E-Text Editor

This is a new test post to see if I can post from the E-Text Editor. This is a pretty sweet text editing program. I am very pleased with my purchase.
